Hand crafted chairs using traditional Windsor chair making techniques.

I took a chair making class on a whim a couple of years ago and was instantly hooked, with all things Windsor chairs. The use of traditional joinery and relying heavily on the use of hand tools rekindled my love for traditional woodworking and sent me down the rabbit hole that is chair making. Since then I’ve taking a couple more classes and have a few more classes on the calendar this year. Froe Woodworks is excited to start offer custom hand crafted chairs focusing on design and traditional joinery. While I’m in the the design and prototype stage of coming up with a unique Froe woodworks chair, I will use this page to showcase the chairs and the makers in the classes that I have and will be taken.

Low Bow - Bern Chandley

I took a class with Bern at Peter Galbert’s school and made one of his stunning low bow diners.

Democratic chair - Curtis Buchanhan

This class at John C Campbell Folk School was taught by Tyler Rodgers.

Comb Back Rocker - Greg Pennington

This was the first Windsor chair class that I took and what a class to take.
